Trailing Leaves Glass features glass art designed and handmade by Katie Chapman in Bloomington, Indiana, using a variety of techniques and glass forms used for kiln-formed, blown, and stained glass.
Blown Glass
I have been blowing glass since June of 2021. I love working with hot glass and experimenting with different colors and textures. I make a variety of paperweights, including glass cacti, as well as solid and blown glass pumpkins. Recently my focus has been on pulled-neck vases and incorporating fused components into my hot glass work.
Fused Glass
I started learning fused glass in Spring 2021 and immediately fell in love with kiln-formed glass. I create both decorative and functional pieces, such as glass succulents, dishes, suncatchers, and nightlights. Some of my most recent pieces feature new techniques, such as drop-vessel vases and frit-stretch designs.
Stained Glass
I began working with stained glass in Fall of 2020. I particularly enjoy making stained glass window hangings and boxes, and I often include fused or sandblasted components in my stained glass pieces.
